Melissa here, your resident Lowdown Motown Junkie... and I'm going to share with you some pictures! Everyone loves picture time!!!
This past weekend, I made the trek to Florida for a few days. Needless to say it was a pretty long trip and slightly tiring at times but there's one thing that perked me up right away. Practically in every place we stopped at along our way.. there were Stuffed Monkeys for sale!!!! I saw a SIGN (you know those kinds that Miss Carrie talked about a few posts ago) in EVERY State! HOLLA!
Okay, maybe they weren't REAL signs but damn it they made me smile! But then again, perhaps the Universe cleverly placed these stuffed Monkeys along my route for a reason... the Monkeyverse may never know the real reason... but in the mean time.... here are the pictures! Enjoy!
Monkey 1: Cracker Barrel in Ohio
This was the only monkey I bought on my trip. I couldn't pass him up. He was a one of a kind and he was a Pirate! He reminded me of the song Twenty to One. So I bought him, and named Spencer :)
Monkey 2: At some random Gas Station in Kentucky
Okay, so this one isn't an actual monkey stuff animal but I found it SO freakin' hilarious that they had a frozen drink called "Monkey Ice" and of course, there was Banana flavor. I have NO idea what Monkeys even have to do with frozen beverages but I won't ask. I'll just giggle... tehehe!
Monkey 3: Another Gas Station in Tennessee!
By this point, I was feeling warm and fuzzy!
Monkey 4: Gas Station in Georgia
Okay the entire trip down to Florida, I did not see one Monkey-related item in Georgia. However, on the way back, I saw these huge 2 ft tall monkeys. Therefore, Georgia is worthy!
Monkey 5: Macy's in Westfield Mall in Florida
It's futuristic and chrome. However, a monkey nonetheless!!
