I loaded the treats for the 4 hour trip into my car . . .

Then I headed out to pick up my partners in crime . . .
Maria, fellow Chatter Monkey, crazy woman, best cousin ever!
Kalee, Maria's real daughter & Kat, Maria's faux daughter!
We loaded into Maria's super sweet mommy mobile van, got the largest Starbucks we could find, filled up the tank and headed west. Destination: Auburn Hills, MI.
After a little more than 4 hours, countess bathroom stops and driving that van faster than anyone should we arrived at the only place that I wanted to be that day!
They are that happy, well, because my driving may be a little scary.
Well this is when the inspiration began! I will give you a little rundown of what happened inside . . . before the music started.
1. we couldn't find seats so we had to stand, until someone left. Why you would leave is beyond me.
2. Kalee was all about Callahan's sound guy, she loves a techie. His name is Frank.
3. I bought a lot of raffle tickets, I was going to win something. Did I? Nope.
4. The bartender made one heck of an Amaretto Sour!
Ok now first before the music started they played for us a short film about Spencer Bell, who he was, how he lived to create, and how he left this earth. I have never in my life felt so emotionally touched by someone whom I have never met, and who's story I hadn't yet heard. Looking around me at the other fans, and seeing the wide array of visible emotions, I could tell that I had just witnessed something perspective changing, and something so much more than any of us.
One to the music! First up was Tin Tin Can, and I have to admit that I don't so much remember them. Before you throw things at me I have to say that I did go into the show as just a 100 Monkey fan, I know shame on me. You can find a link to their on our little info filled sidebar!!
Then The Stevedores . . . I love them, hard!!! I feel like I can conquer the world when I am listening to Thunderdome, which I didn't get to hear, because I had to go to the early show! Again, their on the sidebar. Check them out!! After you finish reading, of course!
Next up, Mr. Dan Graupner took the stage to sing an amazing rendition of Orson Brawl for us. This performance was what made me pick up a guitar, I was inspired to learn to play. Can I play, not yet, but I am working on it!
Last to take the stage 100 Monkeys. I was so excited to finally get to see then up close and personal to see if it was true that they were better live . . . THEY ARE! I was so entertained that I cannot imagine why it had taken me so long to find this musical tour deforce!!
What's that you say . . did I forget a pic of Jackson. Nope that monkey wasn't there! I was a tad bit angry, he was who I was there to see, but after the first song I forgot all about him!
I walked away from that day with not only new friends, everyone I met that day was so nice! Also, a newly renewed creative spirit, and then need to be musical, and be artistic.
The entire day help an air of celebration and love and loyalty, and these are things that are ever present at any show any of these great bands play. They are also the underlying current in the fandom.
I am so glad to be able to call myself a fan because that means to me that I have been accepted into this large crazy family we have formed around our love of music, and being a part of something so much bigger and important that any of us are.
